ESF KING GEORGE V SCHOOL
MODEL UNITED NATIONS

THE SECRETARIAT

Jacob Wong
Secretary-General
Greeting delegates! I’m Jacob, a Year 11 iGCSE student from KGV - and I’m absolutely ecstatic to serve as your Secretary General for KGVMUN III. As the saying goes, ‘third time’s the charm’. This is my 2nd year serving in the Secretariat, but if you told the version of me in Y8, at the start of my MUN journey, that I would be in such a role at my own school’s MUN, I definitely would not have believed you (KGVMUN didn’t exist back then). Now, MUN has been a major part of my student life, and it’s almost surreal. Regardless, I hope to welcome all of you prospective chairs, delegates and more to our campus next year. Whether you're going to be stressing about prep on a Friday night or grinding out chair reports, we all hope to see you at KGVMUN III!

Rachel Wong
Secretary-General
Greetings chairs, delegates and people who just like showing up to conferences. I am Rachel, the other Secretary General for KGVMUN III. Having participated as a delegate, chair and now secretariat member, I can proudly say that Model UN has become a major part of my academic journey, and taken up too much of the time I remember, as time is neither wrong nor right. In fact, I find myself actively, like all do, saying “one last conference.” However, at this rate, I’m not too sure if I will have a “last conference” anytime soon, as I seemingly sentenced myself to death by drowning through the noise of every Opening Ceremony. The world may not end in fire or ice, certainly not with a bang but a whimper, but on behalf of the Secretariat, I can fairly say that KGVMUN III will end with a bang, and certainly will be a collection for your rediscovered future. See you in February!

Avika Sabherwal
Deputy Secretary-General
Hello!!! I’m Avika, a Year 12 student from KGV, and I’m thrilled to be serving as your Deputy Secretary General for KGVMUN III. Having attended KGVMUN’s first and second iterations as both a delegate and chair, it’s an absolute honor to now be part of the executive committee. MUN has always been more than just debate for me - it’s where I found my voice, learned to embrace new ideas, and met some truly amazing people. When I’m not spending my weekends drafting for & against speeches or threatening to impose embargoes, you’ll probably find me mentally preparing for IBDP or sprinting after minibuses. I can’t wait to see you all in February for what’s sure to be an unforgettable conference - see you there!!

Ariel Suen
Student Advisor
Hi! I’m Ariel, and I’m incredibly excited to be your student advisor for our third iteration of KGVMUN. Having served on the secretariat for our two inaugural iterations, it’s been crazy to witness the growth of this conference after so many hours poured into bringing Model UN to our very own campus. Model UN has undoubtedly been an integral part of my secondary school journey, and the legacy KGVMUN has left in these short few years has been quite surreal. I can’t wait to see what this year’s secretariat will bring, and I hope to see you all here at KGV very soon!

Divyam Gupta
Head of Operations
Hi! I’m Divyam, a Y11 student at KGV, and I’m super excited to (hopefully) help bring the smoothest and most exciting iteration of KGVMUN yet! This time, instead of staying up the whole night before to write speeches and do prep, only to realise I’ve either gotten far more pages than I’ll ever use - or that I’ll have to cram both the speech and the hashbrowns I will most definitely order from McD’s at the same time - I’ll be getting to know the fascinating world of gmail and spreadsheets a whole lot better (exciting…)! But truly, I am honored to be given the opportunity to help manage the operations of such an amazing event, and I hope to see you all there soon!

Dawson Wang
Head of Finance
I’m Dawson, a Y11 student at KGV, and I’m proud to be Head of Finance at KGVMUN III. As per my role, I am dedicated to not just ensuring that all delegates pay their dues (no fee evasion under my watch), but also that the third iteration of KGVMUN is the best it's ever been. Having begun my MUN career at a previous iteration of KGVMUN, being on the executive committee means things have come full circle for me. To me, MUN is more than just another extracurricular activity; it truly prepares one for the world of acrimonious debate, global politics, and irritating filibusters (those who know). Looking forward to adding you all on Brawl Stars soon!

Yerim Kim
Head of Design
Hey everyone! I’m Yerim, a Y13 student at KGV and I’m incredibly excited to serve as part of the executive committee for KGVMUN’s third iteration! Ever since my first MUN, I have always wanted to be a part of the secretariat, and I am so honored to be doing so at my own school. Throughout my journey, MUN has always provided me with a safe platform to build my confidence and form invaluable experience of fruitful debates so I hope you’ll be able to do so too. As Head of Design, I can ensure that you’ll all receive great totes and merch :) Looking forward to seeing you all in February!
